FROM TEST TO TESTIMONY!
So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown (Job 2:7)....
Then Job answered the Lord, and said, I know that thou can do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from thee (Job 42:1,2)....So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning....(Job 42:12a)
Many of you are experiencing challenges as Job did. Satan truly is causing havoc in this day and age. For some it may be sickness; for some it may be financial woes; for others it may be relationship problems. No matter what your situation may be, there is good news as we consider the story of Job. Job went from having a tremendous "test" in his life, to having a glorious "testimony." Once you have gone through something and God brings you through, you don't mind telling somebody about the goodness of God!
When we are faced with a test in our lives we should remember at least 3 things: 1. God is Sovereign and has the power to control the circumstances as He sees fit. 2. We may not always understand why God allows trouble in our lives, but we do know that He will never leave us nor forsake us. And 3. If we are patient in waiting, He will ultimate bless us. And we know that all things are working together for good, to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
1. Satan had to ask God's permission to attack Job as He did. God has all power, and is all knowing. We can rest assured that He knows what test we are going through and He is monitoring the challenge that we are facing. We should trust our unknown future to a known God. He has our best interest in mind.
2. When God says enough is enough, it is enough. The elders would say, He may not come when you want Him, but He is always on time. Others say that He only puts as much on you as you can bear. When you are tested, you should know that God has your back!
3. In the end of Job's testimony, God blessed him with more than He had before the test began. We can also be sure that God has greater blessings waiting for us at the end of our challenges. In fact the blessings will be so good, we will have to tell somebody. After the test comes the testimony.
You may not want the test. But just remember, the testimony is not far behind. Take it from me, The Lord is Good All The Time! He has been better to me than I have been to myself. I could go on, but you get the point. I have been tested, but I also have a testimony as well. Hallelujah!
