FWMBC Members and Friends,
We are approaching Thanksgiving Day and I am looking forward to the opportunity to have family and friends over for Thanksgiving dinner.  We will start the day by attending the Thanksgiving Service at FWMBC (8AM).  Afterwards, some will go to the parade and others will pick up last minute items for the dinner.  Some may carry food baskets from the church to some of our members who are sick and shut in.  We have so much to be thankful for.  God is faithful in blessing us and we must keep in perspective the real reason that we celebrate Thanksgiving Day.  It is because God has been so good to us as a Nation, and as a people.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and remember to keep praying for us all.

WHAT HE HAS DONE IN THE PAST, HE WILL DO FOR YOU NOW!
Moreover David said, "The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." (1 Samuel 17:37)

Are any of you facing any major challenges right now?  Are you concerned about the outcome of your challenges?  Have you tried everything that you can think of and still the challenge has not gone away or been solved.  If so, you are not alone.  All of us have gone through some major battles during our lifetimes.  And we have the scars to prove it.  But the truth is, we have always managed to come through whatever we were facing.  Of course we have not always been pleased with the outcomes, but we can truly say (in the final analysis) that we have made it.

This leads me to consider David's story.  He was about to face the giant, Goliath.  This was
a challenge of mammoth proportions.  David began to remember what challenges he had faced in the past.  He had fought with a lion; and he had fought with a bear.  Both of these animals were strong and powerful and could kill David.  But in both cases, God had delivered David against them.  Remembering these events gave David confidence that no matter how great the challenge, he could depend on God to deliver him.

We should have the same confidence that David had when it comes to God.  I can tell you so many stories in my life where I was facing situations that had me fearful and doubting.  But one by one, God brought me through each and every trial.  He has continued to deliver from every lion and bear that I have come against.  I still face challenges daily, as do you as well.  But just remember all of the times that God has been there for you when you were in a tight spot.  When you are able to do that, you can surely agree that "what God has done for you in the past, He will do for you now!"  Praise God!
