Congratulations.  I am very pleased that you exercised your right to vote and it made a difference.  I was especially encouraged that so many young people participated in the election process.  It was predicted that young people under 30 years of age would not come out in the numbers that they did 4 years ago.  I am told that they exceeded their participation of 4 years ago. One of the young men in our church who is 20 years old  (T-Flow) actually produced a CD that called for young people to vote. God Bless all of you, and God Bless America.

A MATTER OF RESPECT!

And Paul said, I was not aware brethren, that he was high priest; for it is written, "YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE."  (Acts 23:5)
.
I believe there is probably a sigh of relief on the part of many people as the election campaign is finally over.  One of the most disturbing elements for me has been the outward disrespect that some people have had for President Obama.  I was born in 1948 and was taught  from an early age to have respect for individuals in positions of authority.  I have always done that whether I agreed with them or not.  However I have seen individuals speak to, and about our President in the most demeaning ways.  It is never okay, in a civilized society to attack the reputation of others just because you disagree with their opinions.  It is my hope, that as a result of his re-election, that he can finally be given the respect that is due the President Of The United States.

In the passage above, Paul is angry with Ananias because the High Priest instructed others to strike him on the mouth.  Paul then called Ananias a "whitewashed wall" and told him that God was going to strike him.  However, others informed Paul about Ananias' status as the High Priest.  Even though Paul was still angry, he realized that it was inappropriate to speak evil  of a ruler of the people.

As Christians, we can agree to disagree without speaking evil of one another.  My prayer is that we will learn how to accept each other in the love of Christ and come together for the sake of truth and justice for all.  I truly hope that our President will be given an opportunity to implement policies that will help all people obtain the benefits of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Lets support our President. "ITS A MATTER OF RESPECT!"
