Using Motivational Interviewing (MI) to Improve Employment Outcomes for Individuals Receiving Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Services

Providing IPS services integrated with MI is likely to increase consumers' engagement in work-related activities, and to further increase number of obtained jobs, hours worked per week, hourly wage, and monthly job income. Visit research2vrpractice.org to learn specific interventions to facilitate these positive outcomes.

Use this training module to learn:

  1. The Key elements of a Community of Practice,
  2. How quickly VR professionals can form and use a CoP to improve employment outcomes and quality of employment for people with disabilities, and
  3. Where to obtain Resources to learn more about CoPs

Work Incentives Informational Sheets for Vocational Rehabilitation via TACE 8

Many VR clients are concerned about losing their benefits if they go to work. There are many "work incentives" that minimize the risk of losing benefits and make employment the better choice. These information sheets provide information vocational rehabilitation counselors and their clients can use to make the most of work incentives.
