JEAN RITCH
Please keep Jean in your prayers and thoughts. As you might know, Jean was one of the original board members establishing Radiant Hands in 2005. Recently, she was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma. The doctors believe the cancer is contained, treatable and she will have a full recovery.
Jean needs lots prayers, and good thoughts sent her way to give her the strength and support to fight this battle. She is unable to take phone calls at this time as she is recovering from pneumonia and talking for a extended time is very difficult. She also can not have visitors, perhaps at a later date. IT DOES MATTER
As you well know, job opportunities require marketable skills and training. It is difficult if not impossible to think of spending money on classes or exams when you can't pay the rent or keep the utilities on. You can impact a family's life by assisting either immediately in a time of crisis or by giving the person the opportunity to improve their education. Radiant Hands is looking to collaborate with you in order to make a difference.
Please make a donation today. Automatic donations can be set up easily through your bank or via paypal using a cc.
$50/month when combined with other donations can:
- keep a family in their home,
- keep (turn on the lights,
- pay for educational classes
- pay for the GED exam (General Education Diploma) for someone who could not finish high school
- provide food for hungry children.
In 2012 your donations and support made a difference in the lives of 193 members of the community (both adult and children). With your help 9 students earned General Education Diplomas, 25 families (56 children) were assisted with their rent in order to avoid eviction and 18 other families (50 children) received support for their utilities. Other assistance included medical bills, emergency child care and assistance to a women (and her children) leaving an abusive situation.

NONPROFIT EXPO
On Jan. 20, 2013 Radiant Hands Inc. attended the NonProfit Expo held at the UF Hilton Conference Center on SW 34th Street. We were impressed with the number of people who came during the afternoon to find out how about area nonprofits working together to make the community a better place for everyone. We were fortunate to have people offer their time and expertise to improve our service. Thanks for everyone who stopped by to talk with Jean, Susan and Pat.

(When) I didn't have anywhere to turn I called a friend and she referred me to Radiant Hand. Radiant Hand was very professional, and sensitive to my situation, I (sic:was) asked to provide proof of my residency and my Landlord was paid directly, my friend paid my Electric bill for me and Radiant Hand recovered her (sic:payment) lost whereas I didn't have to repay back this debt. I didn't want to return to my Ex for help or resort to means that would cause me more financial burdens and then lead to stress that would eventually affect the happy home environment that try to create for my three children. I live within my means and I try to be very fugal, Radiant Hand relieved a huge burden off of my back and I pray that my testimony will help those who are interested in supporting this type of program will be confident knowing that my situation has improved with the temporary assistance of Radiant Hand. |
