Upcoming Events/Fundraisers/Dates

The Opening Act

Club President, Zach Edwards, called the meeting of December 23 to order.  Jonathan Turner was unable to attend the meeting on account of a prior gig arranged for him and the Rock Island Kiwanis Orchestra.

Announcements were few in number.  First, President Zach informed us of a survey that was taken on the subject matter of the Project Eliminate presentation made a few weeks earlier.  The results of the survey were that the Club would maintain its current level of financial support for this program.

The Club also had the opportunity to welcome the Lieutenant Governor, who made a presentation on Club strength and the sharing of success stories for recruiting new members, citing some of the ideas generated by the Annawan Club.

In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the preliminary prize.  However, while the Kartel also won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, President Zach maintained the Club finances by shutting the door on the Kartel.

The Feature Attraction

The program consisted of the annual Bad Gift Exchange.  By press time, your Editor had not yet witnessed the unveiling of the iconic Kiwanis foot or the dapper sport coat Club members have delighted in seeing in past years.  There will be more on that subject next week.

Upcoming Programs

December 30               Grant Awards, Legion of Honor recognition
