Upcoming Events/Fundraisers/Dates

The Opening Act

Club President, Zach Edwards, called the Club meeting of December 2 to order.  Once again furnishing the entertainment was Jonathan Turner and his Jingle Bell Singers.

The Club roster increased by one as President Zach proudly inducted a new member sponsored by Marla Andich.

On our December projects, Adam Bain announced that the Coats for Kids project would be happening December 6, courtesy of J. C. Penney at SouthPark Mall.  Adam needs 12 volunteers, so please sign up if you have a chance to enjoy this spirit-filled event.  Schools being benefited this year will be Frances Willard, the Rock Island Academy, and Longfellow grades schools in Rock Island.

Our Circa 21 outing this year will be on December 18.  Scheduling by Circa 21 would have left the only alternative as being a performance which we had just seen two years ago.

Tom Plechaty, our own Cheese Wiz, proudly reported that this year, we set a new record in cheese sales.  Congratulate yourselves.

President Zach gave a special thank-you to Mark Amacher for his stirring and informative presentation last week on his reminisces of the Kennedy assassination.

We were also pleased to receive greetings from longtime Club member, Bud Helpenstell, now residing in Oregon.

Steve Schroder reported that the next Interclub would be December 12 for the annual Tom & Jerry party sponsored by the Davenport Club at the Outing Club.  Reserve your seats for the ride back.

Chris Elsberg reminded us that the Martin Luther King party would be December 18 and that there would be a wrapping session the Saturday before.

In Fun and Fellowship, the Club was the beneficiary of the first prize.  Qualifying for the grand prize was Mike Swartz, who wasn't able to wrest the money out of the wiley hands of Mike Bell.

The Feature Attraction

The program was to consist of presentations of individual awards, but with the absence of the materials on perfect attendance, the presentations consisted of Legion of Honor awards being presented to Mark Amacher and Bill Cleaver.
