Upcoming Events/Fundraisers/Dates

The Bow Tie Challenge.  Club Member Craig Knobloch has thrown down the gauntlet!  After realizing his initial idea for a beard growing contest was perhaps unfair to the women in the club, the ever dapper Craig is throwing down a bow tie challenge to the club.  If you own a bow tie, wear it to this next or an upcoming meeting.  The real challenge may be if you know how to tie it!

Holiday Cheese Sale.  Tom Plechaty has several cheese packages available for sale, a great gift for the Holidays.  See Tom at a meeting, or contact him to make arrangement.  Last year, the club made almost $1500 on this fundraiser!

The Opening Act

President Zach Edwards called the meeting of October 28 to order.  Jonathan Turner as always led the club in our opening song, while Lee Schenck gave the invocation and led a stirring rendition of America the Beautiful.

In Fun and Fellowship, Mike Bell once again defied the odds, and the club kept all the winnings this week.

We raised $63 for our monthly Food Pantry donation this month.

Tom Plechaty gave his usual plea for holiday cheese sales.  He can have delivered in time for Thanksgiving or Christmas, so get your orders in now!

Zach Edwards reminded everyone of our upcoming Visitors Day on November 25th.  Club Member Mark Amacher will be giving a presentation about the JFK Assassination on the 50th anniversary.  Mark was present that day in Dallas, and this will be a stirring program.  We are encouraging club members to invite a friend, colleague, and anyone who would be a good member to this FREE program to promote the benefits of Kiwanis.

The Feature Attraction

Club Secretary presented a program on the new Kiwanis International Risk Management and Youth Protection Guidelines.  There are new mandatory guidelines that our club must following going forward, and Mike gave a detailed presentation on these new requirements.  Among these guidelines is that all club members must undergo this training on an annual basis.

We will be sending out the new guidelines to ALL club members, as we must ensure that all members have been given these guidelines.  Be watching your email for more on this.
