Moline-Rock Island Golf Challenge, Monday, September 30, 2013

There have been a few changes since Monday's meeting.  There will be NO LUNCH served at Pinnacle Country Club.  So you may come to the regular meeting to eat, or grab lunch on your own. Tee times have been moved to 1:15 also.  DO US PROUD ROCK ISLAND KIWANIS!

Installation of Officers is also at Monday's meeting at the Botanical Center.

The Opening Act

Our regular editor Bill Cleaver was not able to attend the meeting, so I apologize for the much more boring edition this week.

Maestro Jonathan turn was back this week to the delight of those in attendance.  Lee Schenck gave the invocation, and gave a very touching prayer for children.

President Jeff Behrens welcomed the 46 members and guests in attendance.  Joe Robb reminded the club about the upcoming Golf Challenge from the Moline Club next Monday.  Our honor is at stake!

In Happy Sad Dollars, Adam Bain gave an update on the just completed 5th Annual Bags Tournament.  We had 108 teams compete this year.  This is by far our largest fundraiser for the year, and Adam thanked the many volunteers who helped with this event.  A special thank you goes out to Adam for the countless hours of work he puts into this event every year!

In Fun and Fellowship, Mike Bell once again was able to come up with a game to defeat the members, and all proceeds remained with the club this week.

The Feature Attraction

Unfortunately, your editor had to leave the meeting early.  Lindsey Probizanski from Christian Care, spoke about the history and evolution of this fine organization with its offices in Rock Island.
