Club President, Jeff Behrens, called the meeting of July 29 to order. Jonathan Turner provided the entertainment for the meeting along with that crowd favorite, Bix Empen.
During the meal, the notorious back corner table enjoyed the tutorial provided by Prof. Duncan Reid, who regaled us on some of his Phavorite Pharm Phrases.
By the time you get this newsletter, you will have missed the opportunity to attend an Interclub in Moline on July 30 over the noon hour at Trinity Lutheran Church at 1330 - 13th Street. The next Interclub gathering will be Monday, August 5 in Annawan.
Tom Plechaty again gave his plea for assistance at our annual softball tournament, especially at the gate. Delivery service of yeast beverages is available, so figure that gate workers will be the only people able to enjoy the shade if it gets really hot that weekend.
President Jeff once again gave the call for potential Hixson nominees.
There is to be a Kiwanis Night with the River Bandits on August 12. Seats will be $6. Contact Daryl if you're interested.
Bob VanDeVoorde announced that he had muscled $56 for the Food Pantry.
In Fun and Fellowship, Les Bohnert won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. Dick Timmer won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, and while he gave his best effort at trying to continue until he reached the amount he could donate back to the Club, he still managed to win.
