Club President, Jeff Behrens, called the meeting of July 15 to order. Jonathan Turner was unavailable, but Daryl Empen again filled in along with his Birdie Chorus.
The first announcement came from Liz Loveless, who reminded us of three different things. First, she encouraged us to make a dresser-drawer sweep of hotel samples to be made available for the next Homeless Standown. She also reminded us of the NAMI Walk September 28 at Schwiebert Park, as well as contributions to the First Day Fund.
Tom Hanson brought up Interclub activities and mentioned that the next Interclub gathering will be held with the Moline Club Tuesday, July 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 - 13th Street, Moline. Two weeks later, the traveling group will be heading to Annawan.
In Fun and Fellowship, Marty Katz won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. John Kustes qualified for the grand prize, which he won and also contributed to the Club.

The program consisted of presentations of Legion of Honor Awards to a number of our longtime and loyal members. Lee Schenck received an award for 25 years; Duncan Reid, Jim Horstmann and Phil O'Hara received awards for 30 years; Dick Timmer and Pryce Boeye received awards for 45 years; and Marty Katz and Jerry Phelps received awards for 50 years. These members are to be congratulated as longstanding models of service to the Kiwanis Club of Rock Island
