Officers from the Alleman High School Key Club presided over the Club meeting of May 13. Jonathan Turner again provided the entertainment, along with his Pioneer Chorus.
Club President, Jeff Behrens, gave a number of presentations and comments. First, Jeff recognized Don Adams, the faculty advisor of the Key Club and a close friend of the Kiwanis Club of Rock Island.
Jeff next informed the group that by the time you receive this newsletter, you will have had an opportunity to miss the meeting of the Satellite Club at Legends at 5:30 on May 14.
Also on the "too late" list is the Board meeting at 11:30 on May 14 at Huckleberry's.
The Grants Committee met on May 13, so we should expect to receive some news and recommendations from that group shortly.
Gene Smith again exercised commendable cheerfulness in distributing a few more Birdies for Charity pledge cards. So far as the nice goes, we all know that Gene's happy passing out the cards, but when the cards don't come back, well, not so much.
The next Interclub will be May 28 with the Bettendorf Club. Contact Tom Hanson or Steve Schroder if you'd be interested in joining the group.
Guests included an Interclub from Geneseo, as well as a number of members and officers of the Alleman High School Key Club. Jeff commended Tom Stontz for his work as Club liaison to the Alleman High School Key Club.
In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the preliminary prize. The Kartel also won the opportunity to go for the grand prize but managed to lose out.
