Volume 92 No 20                     April 1, 2013
Upcoming Events/Fundraisers/Dates

Sell those Roses!  Rose Day is coming, and orders must be placed by this Monday, April 8th to the club.   Buy for your spouse, your staff, and sell to your friends!

The Opening Act

Club President, Jeff Behrens, called the meeting of April Fool's Day to order.  Providing the entertainment was Jonathan Turner, with his April Fool's Singers.

President Jeff announced that longtime Club member and former Club President, Jerry Upchurch, would be replacing Daryl Townsend on the House Committee.

Tom Plechaty again informed us that Rose Day money would have to be in his hands by April 8 and that he would also appreciate some help that day, circulating roses to the various pickup locations.

Tom Hanson reminded us that the next Interclub would be held April 30 in Geneseo.  There will be more to come on this.

Our Dining Tour books are still available for the low price of $30 or, if you still have them, 716,000 lira.

President Jeff informed us that the annual Atkinson rolle bolle Interclub/tournament will be held June 12.  It's not too early to buff your bolles for this treat.

    Guests included our Lieutenant Governor.

Joe Robb informed us that John Califf has concluded his regimen of treatments but that he is not expected to be up and at 'em for at least another month.

Adam Bain proudly announced that the fifth annual bags tournament will be held September 22.  More help is always welcome and the fellowship is an added bonus.

In Fun and Fellowship, Les Bohnert won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club.  Mike Bell managed to give up the grand prize once again.

The Feature Attraction

The program consisted of a presentation by a chief faculty member of St. Ambrose University in the department involving international education opportunities.

PHRASE FOR THE DAY

"No one really knows enough to be a pessimist."
