August 2014
Synod 2015/General Convention 2015 are coming!

In preparation for the 78th General Convention of the Episcopal Church on June 25-July 3, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Provincial Synod will meet on April 16 & 17, 2015 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY. There will be reports from the General Convention Office as well as workshops on the key issues.  Provincial officers will be elected.

The Rev. Gay Clark Jennings, President of the House of Deputies, has confirmed her attendance at Synod. Michael Barlowe, Executive Officer of the General Convention, is also confirmed.

This is the opportunity for all of the delegates to gather, to meet each other, and to become more informed on the issues that will face them at General Convention.  The Presiding Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Katharine Jefferts-Schori, will address the group and there will be a presentation from the Budget and Finance office, among other things.

To keep up with all of the plans, watch the Province II website under the Synod/Convention 2015 tab.  The list of Deputies is there as well as the preliminary schedule for the synod.

It was inconvenient to look for my checkbook on Sundays before church and with inconsistent attendance, I occasionally found myself weeks behind on my pledge.
