AFA is offering two telephone support groups for caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses. The first, an ongoing group that is general in nature, is suitable for most caregivers and meets on Monday nights, from 7-8 p.m. EDT. The second is a new group, specifically-tailored to adults whose parents have Alzheimer's disease. This group meets Wednesday afternoons from 1-2 p.m. EDT. Each group is facilitated by one of AFA's licensed social workers and registration is required. To learn more, call our national toll-free helpline at 866-232-8484 or

Free Webinar: Clinical Opportunities With Older Adults
Stigma has kept many emerging professionals from working with the aging population. Yet, there is a growing number of older adults and an increased need for people to provide care and services for them. On July 11, Lauren Snedeker, one of AFA's licensed social workers, will present a free, educational webinar,
exploring clinical opportunities to work with older adults and the benefits of helping to ensure meaningful and quality living as we age. Social workers who attend this webinar will be eligible for one (1) New York State continuing education contact hour upon completion of the webinar and a short evaluation. There will be two sessions offered, one at 11 a.m. and one at 3 p.m., both EDT.
