Missions Celebration

First Broad Street welcomes missionaries from far, near


After a weekend of stories, music, worship, workshops, exhibits, crafts and meals, members at First Broad Street UMC pledged more than $82,500 at their annual "Missions Celebration." Keynote speakers were the Rev. Jerry Russell and Bishop Paul Leeland.

In January, Durwood Dunn was too sick to meet an interviewer in person, nor could he eat or talk. However, he responded quickly to emailed questions about his fourth and final book, "The Civil War in Southern Appalachian Methodism."
