3,500 expected for second weekend in Gatlinburg

 

Some 6,559 youth and counselors attended the first weekend of Resurrection, Holston's 29th annual winter event for youth.

Hodges: Health education will continue

After observing from a distance the fighting that began in South Sudan just before Christmas, missionary Diantha Hodges now has a Feb. 18 plane ticket that will take her as far as Uganda.

Martin Luther King Day

United Methodists celebrate
civil rights throughout Holston


On a frigid Martin Luther King Day morning, Susan Montgomery got up and put on her hat and gloves. She drove over to Martin Luther King Boulevard and marched in Knoxville's MLK Day parade.

 

United Methodists at Emory & Henry, Chilhowie, and Abingdon also celebrated the late civil-rights leader and his beliefs.
