Holston prays for peace 

Holston mission leaders are discussing actions and praying for peace since political and ethnic fighting broke out in South Sudan on Dec. 15. "It turned out to be a win-win for both groups," said the Rev. Nathan Malone. One year after the closing of West View View United Methodist Church, the building will be repurposed as a day center for Family Promise.

After Greeneville church closes, Hispanic congregation returns


With fewer than 10 members, Mount Vernon United Methodist Church officially closed last summer. A few months later, a Hispanic congregation moved into the church building where they first worshiped as guests.
