December is for Looking Back
|
Greetings!
As 2012 comes to a close (only one month left!) it is a wonderful time to reflect on all that has been accomplished this year. Look back over your year. What have you accomplished personally? Professionally? What will you continue to work towards? Though many of us in the field of teen pregnancy prevention and reproductive health continue to wage an ever-steepening up-hill battle, we look back to move forward with hope. The country re-elected a president who openly stands with LGBT Americans, who supports comprehensive sex ed by supporting the work of Planned Parenthood, and we have work to do. Take rest this holiday season to come back strong and renewed!

These scholarships are vital to help young people achieve their goals, and you can help! A small donation of $20 can contribute to the education of a teen in your area. Please help now. California youth need opportunities to succeed! Fundraising Goal: $3,400 Campaign Dates: Dec. 1st, 2012 to Jan. 31st, 2013 Words from past recipients: "School has been hard, money has always been tight, and parenthood has been exhausting. Ask me if I'd change any of it my reply would be no. All of this has made me into who I am and now I know who I want to be." -Jordyn "My son completely changed the way I think. When I found out I was going to have a baby I started to care about school and my grades. All I thought of doing was graduating and going to college to become a nurse or dental assistant. I think of being a nurse because ever since I was pregnant I saw that they help people and that's what I want to do" -Estefania "When I found out I was going to be a teen father I was in tenth grade...All I remember my grandmother telling me was she was not shocked and to get a job. My family was not very supportive. I am going to do what I need to do to be a good father to my daughter. I am not going to be like my parents. I am going to be there for my child." -Miguel
