The NH Judicial Selection Commission seeks applications for judicial positions in the Circuit and Superior courts. Download the application or request a copy by calling (603) 271-7677. Please be sure to use the most recent version of the application, which was last revised in 2014.

Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9. Each candidate must submit the application and all accompanying documents, including writing samples, via email only to [email protected].

nullThe 6th Circuit Court in Hillsborough is hosting a brown bag lunch discussion for lawyers from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27 at the court. Judges Edward B. Tenney and Kristin Spath will be in attendance. Attorneys can RSVP and send along issues they wish to discuss to Court Clerk Nancy Ringland.



The New Hampshire Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules will hold a public hearing at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5. The public hearing notice provides the details of the proposed rule changes, which include a proposed new rulemaking system.



Gavel In accordance with Supreme Court Rule 56 and RSA 490:32, the NH Judicial Branch Circuit Court administrative judge routinely conducts judicial evaluations and invites bar and public participation in this process. Evaluate the following judges and masters anonymously by clicking on their names and completing the surveys.

Serving on an NH Bar Association committee is a great way to give back and get more involved in what is happening in the legal profession. Attorneys interested in serving or being reappointed to a committee on which they currently serve should complete this survey by Wednesday, May 27.


Robert E. Kirby Award
Bob Kirby was a rising star known by his partners and by opposing counsel as an honest, smart, and professional lawyer with a charismatic personality. He died of a sudden illness in 1996, at just 35 years old. This award is an enduring reminder of what it means to be a great lawyer in New Hampshire.

The Robert E. Kirby Award is given annually to a practitioner age 35 or younger who demonstrates excellent advocacy and civility. Kirby Award nomination form.

Frank Rowe Kenison Award
The Honorable Frank Rowe Kenison (1907-1980) served as chief Justice of the NH Supreme Court from 1952 to 1977. The Kenison award is presented annually to a person or group making a substantial contribution to the betterment of New Hampshire citizens through the administration of justice, the legal profession or the advancement of legal thought. Both awards will be presented at the NH Bar Foundation Annual Event on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Grappone Center in Concord.

The Rockingham County Bar Association will host its 2015 annual meeting from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Portsmouth Country Club in Greenland. Tickets are $30 and include a buffet dinner. Cash bar. RSVP by May 20 to RCBA President Ralph Barbagallo Jr.



Nominations will be accepted for an open seat (five-year term) on the NH Bar Foundation's IOLTA Grants Committee. The committee meets to review grant applications and make recommendations to the Foundation's board of directors.

Complete and return the nomination form to the Bar Center by Wednesday, July 1.

Top Section: Summarizes the member's Final Certificate dated June 30, 2014, in minutes. This summary statement is the starting point for the 2015 NHMCLE year beginning July 1, 2014.

Middle Section: Shows courses attended (in minutes) and entered from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.

Bottom Section: Shows the Totals statement (sum of the Top and Middle Sections) in minutes accrued for categories: course subjects (ethics and non-ethics) and course settings (Live). When minutes in each category reach the minimum required minutes, the member has complied with Rule 53.

Supreme Court Rule 53 requires compliance by June 30, 2015.
