 The US District Court for the District of New Hampshire will soon begin its annual review of the local rules for proposed revisions to become effective Dec. 1, 2015. The court is seeking input from the bar. The NHWBA and the Women's Law Student Association at UNH School of Law invite bar members to a panel discussion with past Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award recipients at UNH School of Law from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 7. The panelists include NH Superior Court Chief Justice Tina Nadeau, NH Mediator Carol Hess, LARC Executive Director Connie Rakowsky, Professor Lucy Hodder and Professor Emerita Ellen Musinsky. NH Supreme Court Justice Carol Ann Conboy, also a past Ricker Award recipient, will moderate the discussion, which will cover a wide range of topics, including mentoring, path to career, work/life balance and the practice of law in New Hampshire. The US District Court for the District of New Hampshire has an immediate opening for a full-time permanent administrative deputy clerk. The primary position responsibilities are multifaceted and include legal research and writing, assisting with juries, managing the CJA attorney appointment and payment process, revising financial and procurement internal control documents, assembling and analyzing court statistics, developing new court processes and rules, and serving as a backup to the financial administrator. A law degree is required. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience and an outstanding working knowledge of computer applications are preferred. Full benefits are available with a starting salary range of CPS CL26 $46,619 to $60,212, depending upon experience, with promotion potential to CPS CL27.
