Feb. 20 Blood Drive Honors Colleague

SOLACE encourages members of our legal community to make a New Year's resolution to donate blood to the American Red Cross in honor of Manchester attorney William E. Brennan, who is recovering from a serious and rare blood disorder called Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) diagnosed earlier this year. TTP is a disorder where blood clots form in small vessels of the body blocking oxygen rich blood to organs.

Thankfully Bill's medical team made a quick diagnosis and proceeded to treat him with blood infusions. His friends and colleagues are grateful that Bill was able to receive all the units of blood he needed, and are asking the legal community to take the time and donate blood to the American Red Cross on Friday, Feb 20 at the Red Cross Donation Center, 425 Reservoir Avenue, in Manchester, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Donors can go to redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS to set an appointment at the "Manchester Fixed Site". The entire Blood Donor Center will be dedicated to our drive for the day.

For further information go to the Manchester Blood Donation Center. (Or you may schedule another time if that is more convenient.)

Start the New Year by participating in this very worthy cause. On behalf of Bill, his family, friends and colleagues thank you all in advance for your donations.

SOLACE, an acronym for Support of Lawyers, All Concern Encouraged, is a mutual help communication network for members of the NH Bar, their families and employees.

SOLACE will provide assistance to Association members upon their request or requests by family members or friends who are close to the situation. This network enables members to reach out to their colleagues in a time of need - such as a sudden serious illness or accident, a damaging house or office fire, or a natural disaster. SOLACE can help by alerting all NH Bar members and giving them the opportunity to provide support in a time of crisis.

Whenever you or someone you know in the legal community learns of a tragic situation, the person can fill out a SOLACE form. That request will be received by Larry Vogelman, the moderator of the SOLACE project.

Responders will either respond directly to the person in need or to an intermediary.

SOLACE will not solicit cash or financial support. If you have questions about the program, please send them to Denice DeStefano.
