Please join the NH Chapter of the Federal Bar Association for a tour of the Warren B. Rudman Federal Courthouse led by former court clerk James Starr from 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3. Learn what it took to design and build this unique courthouse.

In conjunction with Former Clerk Starr's tour and stories, Court Clerk Daniel J. Lynch will also offer an introduction to the technology available for use in the courtrooms. A coffee/tea and dessert reception will follow.

Calling hours for David Nixon will be held from 2-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, at the Cashin Senior Center in Manchester. People can arrive any time during those hours. There will be a funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the New Boston Central School, with a reception after at the New Boston Community Church.



The NH Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules will hold a public hearing at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Supreme Court Building on Charles Doe Drive in Concord, to receive the views of any member of the public, bench, or bar on court rules changes, which the Committee is considering for possible recommendation to the Supreme Court.

The changes being considered are available online in the Appendix to the Public Hearing Notice.

Established on the occasion of Judge Hollman's retirement from the Superior Court bench in 2003, this award is designed to honor his efforts as a stalwart advocate for gender equality in the legal system.

A Hollman award recipient is someone who:
  • has exhibited dedication to promoting respect and fair treatment toward all members of the judicial system
  • seeks to promote gender equality through leadership and educating others on such issues
  • has taken the initiative in matters of gender equality and by his/her actions and words has been a role model in this area.
A nominee may be a Bar member, an employee of a law firm or a New Hampshire court, or an employee of a state department or agency that is part of the legal system. The award will be presented at the Gender Equality Breakfast during the 2015 Midyear Meeting, Feb. 27, 2015.

Please send nominations by Monday, Dec. 15, to Rosemarie Atwood, Gender Equality Committee liaison. Please include a brief description of the nominee's qualifications for the award.

  • Michael Rubin, a lawyer, adjunct law professor and humorist, presents a lively - yes, lively - program on ethical choices and concerns applicable to lawyers in any setting.
