The Rockingham County Bar Association is sponsoring a public forum for County Attorney candidates. Five candidates are vying for the open office. The event will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Portsmouth Public Library. Doors open at 6 p.m.



Have you paid your dues? If a NH Bar Association member has not paid association dues and mandatory court fees in full by Sept. 1, a $50 delinquency fee will be assessed.

Members can conveniently pay the NHBA invoice using a credit card. Have your invoice in front of you when you use this payment link.



Make sure your annual Section dues are paid by Sept. 1. Members who are not current on their section dues by Sept. 1 will be removed from the mailing list and the listserve discussion group for the appropriate section.

The NH Women's Bar Association holds its 17th Annual Fall Reception at The Concord Country Club from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18. The reception will include the presentation of the 2014 Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award to Attorney Carol L. Hess.

RSVPs are appreciated by e-mailing NHWBA Executive Director Gretchen Pyles. The event includes presentation of the Winnie McLaughlin Scholarship to Allison M. Fusco, a second-year law student at UNH School of Law. A 50/50 raffle to benefit the Winnie McLaughlin Scholarship Fund will also be held.

The National LGBT Bar Association, recognizing that LGBT families are increasingly turning to the legal profession for information about tax law changes, has announced its new Tax Equity Project. The project is a forum for all practitioners that facilitates communication and shared information about federal tax law for married same-sex couples.
