Which judge will hear your case? The NH Judicial Branch has released the latest NH Superior Court judicial assignments for July through September.



null All criminal law attorneys who regularly practice in the Rockingham County Superior Court are invited to a brown bag lunch at the Rockingham County Superior Court at noon on Tuesday, July 22, in the jury assembly room. Topics of discussion will include the new settlement conference process in criminal cases, led by Judge Kathleen McGuire.

NHLA Executive Director John Tobin retires Aug. 1. The board and staff of NHLA are hosting a reception to celebrate and thank John for his life-long commitment to increasing access to justice for New Hampshire's poor and elderly.

Where: NH Audubon Society, 84 Silk Farm Road, Concord.
No charge to attend the event; contributions in John's honor can be made to the Campaign for Legal Services.

A new reporting system is in place for reporting credits earned for the Supreme Court Rule 53 (NH Minimum Continuing Legal Education).

The usual system applies for continuing education programs taken before July 1, 2014. Please submit applications for credit by July 15.

For participation in programs after June 30, 2014, attorneys will self-determine and self-report credits. A new online reporting tool will be online soon. Read more.



The State of New Hampshire has begun accepting applications for the New Hampshire Health Protection Plan, the expansion of Medicaid coverage for low-income residents. Insurance coverage starts Aug. 15.

Applications can be submitted online at www.nheasy.nh.gov or www.healthcare.gov, by calling the Medicaid Service Center at 1-888-901-4999, by downloading a paper application at www.dhhs.nh.gov or by visiting a DHHS district office. Find out more.



The NH Bar Foundation is looking for nominees for the foundation's Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Grants Committee. There is one open seat with a five-year term.

A nomination form, available on the Bar Foundation website, must be completed and returned to the Bar Center by Monday, July 28.

The committee meets several times each year to review requests for grants and make recommendations to the NH Bar Foundation board.
