Only a few days remain until June 30, the last day of the current reporting year for Supreme Court Rule 53 (NH Minimum Continuing Legal Education NHMCLE rule). There's still time to take courses to fulfill the 12-credit annual NHMCLE requirement, but it is important that you report credits for this year before July 1. If you take a course starting in July, you will report the credits yourself on a new website and app developed by the NH Bar Association that will be available very soon. (Course providers will not be submitting attendance after June 30, 2014.) Credits earned through NHBA programming will automatically be posted in the new system. For the most up-to-date information on your NHMCLE status, please log in to the NH Bar website and visit the NHMCLE page. Those who received a yellow report can obtain more information here.

The Battered Women's Justice Project has a new online resource, Representing Victims of Intimate Partner Violence Connected with the Military - A Handbook for Civil Attorneys.
Victims of intimate partner violence who are military service members, veterans, or partners of service members or veterans, often have specific legal issues related to the military. While resources on legal representation of service members and/or veterans exist, this handbook specifically addresses additional considerations for attorneys when representing military-related victims/survivors.

SOLACE is a mutual assistance network for the NH legal community. SOLACE stands for Support Of Lawyers/Legal Personnel All Concern Encouraged. If you have experienced, or know of a lawyer, judge, courthouse or law firm employee or family member who has suffered a loss, illness or injury and has an unmet need, use the SOLACE contact form to let others know how they can help. Once approved by the SOLACE coordinator, a lawyer-volunteer, the request will be distributed through an email to all participating lawyers in the NHBA. It can be a need for clothes due to a fire, a need for blood due to an injury or illness, a need for transportation or lodging during a hospital stay in a city away from home, or any of a myriad of other unique or unusual needs. This is not a listserv for public service announcements or a prayer list. It will also not be a cash fundraiser nor an employment recruiting tool. It serves immediate needs that have arisen as a result of a crisis event in a colleague's life.
