Pro Bono Golf - Old Man on the Mountain
The 2014 Quid Pro Bono Golf Tournament, the major annual fundraiser for the NHBA Pro Bono Referral Program, is now accepting player registrations online and by mail. The tournament will be Thursday, Aug. 14, at the beautiful Lake Sunapee Country Club in New London, NH. Join us for a full day of fun on the greens, with food, contests, raffle prizes and giveaways.

The NH Women's Bar Association is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award. Named for the first woman to apply for admission to the NH bar, the Ricker Award honors outstanding women lawyers in New Hampshire who have achieved professional excellence, paved the way to success for other women lawyers, advanced opportunities for women in the profession and/or performed exemplary public service on behalf of women.

Nominations for this award will be accepted through June 13. If you have any questions about the nomination process, email NHWBA Executive Director Gretchen Pyles.



There's less than a month left to fulfill the 12-credit CLE requirement of Supreme Court Rule 53 for the current reporting year. Interim reports were recently sent to NHBA members, showing credits recorded as of May 6. For the most up-to-date information on your NHMCLE status, please log in to the NH Bar website and visit the NHMCLE page.

The presenters provide a review the 2014 New Hampshire Child Support Guidelines, including changes from last year. They also discuss any new cases on child support. Practice tips will be provided, including how the July 1, 2013, changes to the guidelines have impacted child support cases, from litigation to settlement.

The US District Court for the District of New Hampshire announced this week that, effective Monday, June 16, Magistrate Judge Andrea K. Johnstone will begin presiding over court matters at the federal courthouse in Concord.



Justice For All Challenge Bar members are encouraged to commit to provide at least 30 hours of voluntary legal services - through the Bar's Pro Bono program or through other ways - from March 2014 to March 2015. Recently, Tennessee reported that 42 percent of its attorneys reported doing some pro bono work during 2012, averaging 73.8 hours per attorney, while in Washington, D.C., a ceremony held recently honored 30 law firms for their pro bono participation levels (at least 40 percent of the firms' lawyers had provided 50 or more hours each of pro bono service last year.)
