The New Hampshire Bar Association will hold a special business meeting and budget information session at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Bar Center, 2 Pillsbury St., Concord. All members are invited to attend and vote on proposed amendments to the NHBA Bylaws and Constitution and receive information about the association budget adopted for FY2014. Do you have a few hours to volunteer this holiday season at the Bar Center to help Pro Bono place cases? Please consider helping at one or more of the three Pro Bono year-end referral marathons on Thursday, Dec. 12, Tuesday, Dec. 17, or Friday, Dec. 20. These marathons have successfully placed hundreds of clients with Pro Bono volunteer attorneys over the years. Just a few hours placing calls to other volunteer attorneys is all we need. The NH Bar Gender Equality Committee is seeking nominations for its Philip S. Hollman Gender Equality Award. The award will be presented at the 2014 NHBA Midyear Meeting on March 7. The award recognizes an individual or organization that promotes gender equality through leadership and educating others. Nominees can be Bar members, law firm or court employees, or employees of state departments or agencies that are part of the legal system.  The NH Bar is looking for volunteer attorneys and/or host firms to answer the public's legal questions from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, and Wednesday, Feb. 12. Lawline is a monthly public service offered by the NHBA every second Wednesday of the month. Volunteer lawyers can answer calls forwarded via our dedicated toll-free line, either remotely or from one central location.
