NH Women's Bar Reception - 9/19
The NH Women's Bar Association will hold its 16th Annual Fall Reception at the Concord Country Club from 5:30-7:30 on Thursday, Sept. 19. The reception will include the presentation of the 2013 Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award to the Hon. Tina L. Nadeau, chief justice of the NH Superior Court. The Ricker Award is presented annually to an outstanding woman lawyer in New Hampshire.

The reception is open to the public. No RSVP is required. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided. At the reception, the Winnie McLaughlin Scholarship will be presented to Lindsay Whitelaw, a second-year law student at UNH School of Law. A raffle to benefit the Winnie McLaughlin Scholarship Fund will also be held.

Condolences to Judge Perkins' Family
The NH Bar Association community was saddened to learn of the death of retired Judge Harold Perkins on Aug. 23, 2013. Because the family has requested that no official obituary be published, we are including this information here as notice to bar members of his passing. Judge Perkins was recently named the 2013 recipient of the Justice William A. Grimes Judicial Professionalism Award and was honored as a 50-year member of the NH Bar Association. Read a Bar News profile of Judge Perkins that was associated with that honor.

NHBACLE Presents Humorist Sean Carter - 9/13
The morning program is all about ethics: Sean goes beyond the dos and don'ts of the Rules of Professional Conduct to get to the heart of the matter - the common mindsets that result in ethical violations in the first place.

The afternoon is a review of the US Supreme Court cases decided in the last term: In this unique presentation, Sean humorously recaps the most significant cases decided by the High Court.

Sign up for a full- or half-day live program. Lunch is included for all-day attendees. Both the morning and afternoon programs will be offered as live webcasts.
