NH Supreme Court Soliciting Amicus Briefs - 9/13
The NH Supreme Court is soliciting amicus briefs or memoranda in the case of Kenneth Lahm v. Michael Farrington and the Town of Tilton on the following issue: Do police officers owe criminal suspects a duty to investigate a complaining witness's allegations, beyond establishing probable cause, before effecting an arrest?

Amicus briefs should focus on the ramifications of a decision and not solely on the interests of the parties filing such briefs. A copy of the Belknap Superior Court order has been posted with the Supreme Court announcement about the amicus submissions, which are due by Sept. 13.

NH e-Court Survey on Law Office Software - 7/29
The NH Bar Association is collaborating with the NH Judicial Branch to circulate a brief, 12-question survey regarding the NH e-Court Project. Responses by lawyers or firms' administrative or IT personnel will be compiled by the Judicial Branch to coordinate the NH e-Court Project interface with case management software systems used by law firms, large and small, in our state.

Take the survey now. Please respond by July 29.

The intent of the NH e-Court Project is to develop an end-to-end electronic court case processing system in a digital environment, eliminating paper processes and decreasing case-processing time. The project, which is now in year two of an estimated five-year rollout, seeks to increase efficiency, enhance accuracy, and improve service to the public.

For further information on the NH e-Court project please visit the court's project web page.

NHBA Seeks Nominations for Paralegal Award - 8/21
