Annual Meeting Draws Hundreds to Portsmouth
Thanks to everyone who attended the NHBA Annual Meeting last weekend. View photos from Annual Meeting. Highlights include: Retired Judge Harry Perkins, who achieved honorary member status for 50 years as a lawyer, also received the Justice Grimes Judicial Professionalism Award. Also, the NHBA New Lawyers Committee organized a fun art show and cocktail reception Friday night. In addition to the previously announced awards, retired Judge John R. Maher received Special Recognition for his many years of service to help lawyers and judges struggling with substance abuse and other personal issues through Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers and the NH Lawyers Assistance Committee, which has since become a formal program created by the Court.

Catholic Lawyers Guild Seeks Nominations - 6/28
The Catholic Lawyers Guild of NH seeks nominations for the 2013 St. Thomas More Award. The award honors a lawyer or judge who is a practicing Catholic and embodies the spirit of St. Thomas More in his or her courage, dedication, integrity, civility, and compassion toward others. The award will be presented at a dinner following the annual Red Mass at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at St. Joseph Cathedral in Manchester. Nomination letters should include a description of the contributions made by the nominee and be sent by June 28 to Bob Carey or P.O. Box 3550, Concord, NH 03302-3550.

NHBA Paralegal Professionalism Award - 8/21
The NH Bar Association is seeking nominations for its annual Paralegal Professionalism Award, which is presented to the nominee who best exhibits a high degree of professionalism: possesses an outstanding level of knowledge about their job; has motivation that exceeds expectations; is considered a role model for other paralegals; and promotes paralegal work as a profession.
Nominations should be in the form of a one-page narrative and should be submitted by Aug. 21 to NHBA Paralegal Award, 2 Pillsbury St., Suite 300, Concord, NH 03301-3502. The Paralegal Award will be presented during the luncheon at the Paralegal Association's Annual Meeting on September 20, 2013.
