Hon. Bruce R. Larson Memorial Service - 6/15
A memorial service for the Hon. Bruce R. Larson is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, NH. Larson, of Durham, served as a NH district court judge from 1983 until his retirement in 2008. Larson passed away Feb. 23. He was 74.

Foreclosure Legal Help Available - 6/4, 8/6
Is your client, friend or family member facing foreclosure? Attorneys working with the collaborative NH Foreclosure Relief Project and the NH Bar Legal Services Department will be available to answer foreclosure-related legal questions by phone from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, and Tuesday, Aug. 6. Attorneys can be reached at 800-868-1212. A series of free foreclosure legal clinics will continue in June. The next two events are scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at AHEAD in Littleton, and 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, Androscoggin Valley Hospital, 59 Page Hill Road in Berlin. Campaign Hosts Concord-Area Reception - 6/3
NH Bar members are invited to an informational reception from 5:30-7 p.m. on Monday, June 3, at the Bridges House in Concord. Hosted by the Campaign for Legal Services, the event will include a short program about legal assistance in New Hampshire. Light refreshments will be served. The Campaign is a joint fundraising initiative that benefits NH Legal Advice & Referral Center, New Hampshire Legal Assistance, and the NH Bar Association's Pro Bono Referral Program. CJA Appellate Panel Applications Due - 6/10
The First Circuit Court of Appeals is accepting applications for attorneys to serve on the court's Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel. Applicants must be members of the federal court bar in good standing, have a commitment to indigent defense and accept at least one CJA appellate appointment each year. Instructions and application forms can be downloaded from the court's website and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, June 10.

Public Hearing on Rule Changes - 6/7
The NH Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules will hold a public hearing at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, to collect input on court rules changes it is considering. The changes concern: Notice of appeal deadline; photographing, recording and broadcasting; continuing judicial education; rule-making procedures; protocol for in camera review of documents; alternative dispute resolution; circuit court rules - dismissal of cases pending without action; counsel fees and guardians ad litem fees rules; performance evaluation of judges; sentence review division rules; and pro hac vice fees. Grafton County Bar Association Spring Meeting - 5/30
The spring meeting of the Grafton County Bar Association will feature journalist and historian Mike Pride, who will talk about his new book, Our War: Days and Events in the Fight for the Union, which recounts true stories from the Civil War. Scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Common Man in Plymouth, the event is $35 per person and includes dinner. RSVP with payment and meal choice (steak, chicken or fish) to Treasurer Jim Laffan.

Many people in New Hampshire need help filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy due to iIlness, job loss, divorce, and other circumstances. The NH Pro Bono Referral Program has dozens of seniors, families, former wage earners, and veterans in need of a fresh financial start.
