Foreclosure Training - 3/20
The NH Bar Association Foreclosure Relief Project is hosting its first seminar where attorneys can learn the legal essentials for representing NH homeowners facing foreclosure. The all-day seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, at the Bar Center in Concord. NH Attorney General Michael Delaney and US District Court Judge Joseph Laplante will be the guest speakers.

500+ Convene at Midyear Meeting
The 2013 Midyear Meeting is now in the books - another strong turnout for Professionalism Day CLE with professional speaker Talmage Boston, a Rule of Law panel featuring a spirited debate on detention and trial of terrorism suspects, a luncheon with award-winners and recognition of the 40th anniversary of the NH Public Defender, and lots of socializing.

Casemaker, NH Bar Offer CiteCheck
CiteCheck is a new feature available at the NH Bar's Casemaker page. Unbundled DOVE Training - 4/30
The NH Pro Bono Domestic Violence Emergency (DOVE) Project is planning a full-day training on Tuesday April 30, 2013 on providing unbundled legal services in family law cases for survivors of domestic violence.

The training, will be aimed at more experienced attorneys or those who primarily practice family law, will go beyond the DOVE focus on representation at permanent restraining order hearings.

The faculty will include: attorneys Mary Krueger, of NH Legal Assistance; W. Scott O'Connell, Nixon Peabody; John C Norton, Norton & Abert; Maria Gavin, Bradley & Faulkner; and representatives from the court system and Voices Against Violence, a domestic violence shelter.

6th Circuit Brown Bag Lunches - 4/17, 4/26, 5/3
The 6th Circuit - District Division Court in Concord will be hosting three Brown Bag Lunches, one for each division, in April and May. Judges and masters are scheduled to attend the Brown Bag Lunch event for their division. All three events will take place at noon in the courthouse library.

Dates are:
Juvenile Division - Wednesday, April 17
Criminal Division - Friday, April 26
Family Division - Friday, May 3

10th Circuit Brown Bag Lunch - 3/29
The 10th Circuit Court - Brentwood will host a Brown Bag Lunch for criminal law practitioners from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at the courthouse. Judge Mark Weaver, Judge David LeFrancois and Clerk Cheryll Andrews will be in attendance for discussion as well as a period for questions and answers.

Foundation Award Nominations - 4/1
The NH Bar Foundation is asking Bar members to help recognize the efforts of attorneys and others contributing to the justice system. These awards will be presented at the Foundation's annual event on May 14, 2013.

The deadline for submitting nominations is April 1, 2013.

Robert E. Kirby Award for Young Lawyers
The Robert E. Kirby Award is given annually to a practitioner 35 years old or younger who demonstrates excellent advocacy and civility.

The recipient, like Kirby, should combine the traits of civility, courtesy, perspective, and excellent advocacy that are the inevitable characteristics of our best lawyers. The purpose of the award is to honor Bob's memory and to remind all of us that decency, courtesy and perspective neither inhibit nor defeat excellent advocacy. Kirby Award momination form.

Frank Rowe Kenison Award for Contributions to Justice
The Frank Rowe Kenison Award is presented annually to an individual (or individuals) who makes substantial contributions to the betterment of New Hampshire citizens through the administration of justice, the legal profession, or the advancement of legal thought. Recipients need not be members of the NH Bar Association. Kenison Award nomination form.
