Pro Bono Announces 2013 Awards
The following awards will be presented during the Honors & Awards Luncheon at the NH Bar Midyear Meeting scheduled for March 8 at the Center of NH in Manchester.

The NH Bar Association Pro Bono program recognizes the following attorneys and organization for providing Distinguished Pro Bono Service:

Margaret Cunnane Hall
Daniel J. Harkinson
Brian C. Shaughnessy
Kenneth D. Murphy
Judith K. Jones
Ronald R. Bessette
Catholic Lawyers Guild

Pro Bono also recognizes Brenda M. Golden Hallisey as the 2013 Pro Bono Rising Star.

David L. Nixon: L. Jonathan Ross Award for Outstanding Commitment to Legal Services for the Poor. Nixon is a veteran volunteer of the NH Bar Pro Bono Referral Program and particularly the DOVE Project in recent years. He is a legal services advocate and mentor and has represented more than 150 low-income victims of domestic violence.

NH Bar President Larry Vogelman will present the following awards at Midyear Meeting:

Alan Linder: Outstanding Service in Public Sector/Public Interest Law Award. Linder is the senior staff attorney at NH Legal Assistance, where he has worked for nearly 30 years, giving a voice to low-income residents of New Hampshire, earning the respect of his colleagues, and acting as a mentor to generations of young lawyers.

Margaret H. Nelson: Distinguished Service to the Public Award. Nelson, who practices commercial and administrative litigation at Sulloway & Hollis, recently stepped down after 16 years as a member and chair of the NH Supreme Court Professional Conduct Committee, during which time she assisted in the development of the state's revamped attorney discipline process.

Christopher T. Regan: Vickie M. Bunnell Award for Community Service. Regan, an at-large governor on the NHBA Board of Governors, is a classic example of the small-firm practitioner, active both in his community and his profession. Regan serves as the moderator for the Town of Durham in addition to other community and bar involvements.

Tickets for the luncheon are available for purchase for those who will not be attending the CLE events at Midyear Meeting. Use the online registration form.
