'Most Misunderstood' Decision - 1/29
Tomorrow - Attorney Matthew McGill, who represented the prevailing side in the controversial Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission case, will discuss this case and another upcoming Supreme Court case in a free public lecture on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at Phillips Exeter Academy.

McGill's topic will be, "Citizens United: The Supreme Court's Most Misunderstood Decision." McGill is partner in the Washington, DC, law firm of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. He is currently involved in another high-profile Supreme Court case, Hollingsworth v. Perry, representing the two same-sex couples who challenged California's Proposition 8.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. in the assembly hall on the second floor of the Academy Building on Front Street in Exeter. The Academy Building is handicapped-accessible, and street parking is available.

University System Board to Vote on Law School Integration - 2/1
The UNH School of Law Board of Trustees voted on Thursday, Jan. 24, to fully integrate the law school with the University of New Hampshire.

The University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees will take up the question at its next scheduled meeting, on Friday, Feb. 1. If the USNH board also votes in favor, the process of fully integrating the two schools will begin, culminating in the law school's transition to a school of the university by early 2014. The law school would remain in Concord.

Earlier recruiting efforts have drawn enough volunteers. The event is a collaboration of the UNH School of Law, the NH Judicial Branch, the Nashua Bar Association, the mayor of Nashua, and the Nashua Chamber of Commerce. Read more about the event: 2013 Northeast Regional National Trial Competition at Nashua.
