E-Court Public Forum - 2/5
Chief Justice Linda Dalianis, Justice Gary Hicks and Peter Croteau, Judicial Branch Chief Technology Officer and e-court project manager, will discuss progress and recent accomplishments of the effort to convert the delivery of services to a mostly electronic court system at a public forum at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Administrative Office of the Courts. The forum will last about one hour.

The Judicial Branch's e-Court website has been updated with new project information.

Read more about e-court in Chief Justice Dalianis' interview in the January issue of Bar News.

Bar News Seeks Volunteers for "At-a-Glance"
Bar News seeks members to collect and summarize NH Supreme Court decisions. Sign up to review and summarize opinions for one month or more, starting in February. For more information and to volunteer, contact Lisha Brosseau.

Here are some recent summaries.

Midyear Meeting Awards Announced
NH Bar President Larry Vogelman has announced that at the NHBA Midyear Meeting on March 8, he will present the following awards:

Distinguished Service to the Profession Award: Margaret H. Nelson, Sulloway & Hollis. Nelson has just stepped down after 16 years as a member and chair of the Professional Conduct Committee, including assisting in the development of the revamped attorney discipline process.

Vickie M. Bunnell Award for Community Service: Christopher T. Regan, of Durham. Regan, an at-large governor on the NHBA Board of Governors, is a classic example of the small-firm practitioner, active both in his community and his profession. Regan serves as the moderator for the Town of Durham in addition to other community involvements.

The Pro Bono Referral Program also has announced that David L. Nixon is the 2013 recipient of the L. Jonathan Ross Award for Outstanding Commitment to Legal Services for the Poor. Nixon has been both a mentor and an active Pro Bono volunteer, particularly with the DOVE Project in recent years.

These awards will be presented at the Midyear Meeting Honors & Awards luncheon, which will also include a celebration of 40 years of service to justice by the NH Public Defender Program.

Gender Equality Breakfast - 3/8
The Gender Equality Breakfast at Midyear Meeting 2013 will feature a presentation by Evelyn Murphy, former lieutenant governor of Massachusetts and president and founder of the WAGE Project, Inc. a national grassroots activist organization dedicated to eliminating the gender wage-gap.

Also at the breakfast, those who attended the recent Gender Equality Initiative Training series will receive certificates, and Judge Hollman will announce the winner of this year's Hollman Award, which will be presented at the NHBA Annual Meeting in June.

Please join us to celebrate the great work that has been accomplished this past year while forging ahead to expand opportunities for women in the legal profession. Register online today to receive the early-bird rate.

LRS Needs Foreclosure Attorneys
Lawyer Referral Service has a particular need for attorneys with practices in Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire, Strafford and Sullivan counties for real estate foreclosures and/or mortgage modification issues. If you are interested and would like to join, you may download the LRS Membership Application or contact us at lrsreferral@nhbar.org. If you are already a member, please email your interest in adding these case types to your existing panels.

Stormy Weather? Is My Court Open?
The NH Judicial Branch aims to keep courts open regardless of weather conditions, but in special circumstances, closures are posted on the "nhcourts" Twitter feed, which can be found online at www.twitter.com/nhcourts.

If bad weather hits, visit www.nhbar.org to find out about delays or changes in meetings scheduling at the Bar Center or call 603 715-3279 (EASY).

Bar Journal: Game-Changers
Check out the latest issue of the Bar Journal just posted online, featuring articles on the new med-mal law, cautions about threats in litigation, and an eye-opening article on campaign finance in New Hampshire.

Circuit Court Phone Number
Effective immediately, the new toll-free phone number for all Circuit Court locations is 1-855-212-1234.

Individual phone numbers for Circuit Court locations will eventually be phased out. All phone numbers are answered by the Circuit Court Call Center.

PAD Rules to Apply Statewide - 3/1
The Proportional Discovery and Automatic Disclosure (PAD) Rules now in use in the pilot counties of Grafton, Strafford and Hillsborough counties will apply to all new Superior Court cases starting March 1. The rules are temporary rules.

The NHBA CLE live program in Concord on Feb. 14 is SOLD OUT. You can still register for the live webcast or register for video replays in Lincoln, West Lebanon and Keene in late February.

Judges for High School Mock Trial Finals Needed
