Racial profiling, criminalization, and mass incarceration of African Americans and other people of color constitute today's legal system for institutionalized racism, discrimination, and exclusion. Author Dr. Michelle Alexander exposes today's racial caste system and how to resist it.

This summer, you are invited to read the book and discuss this social justice issue at our First Unitarian Society book club.

Managing Our Website

We are very proud of the new website that was unveiled in April. Management of the site is handled by the web team of Bob Aderhold, Paul Riedesel and Curt Dederich. They are responsible for keeping the site current and looking attractive to visitors.

The overall appearance, content and page structure were designed to be user-friendly. The team is in regular contact with the major program areas to keep the site current.  In addition, you may request website updates or enhancements by putting your request in writing and sending it to the team mailbox which is continuously monitored.

Staying Connected

If you are not already participating in our online community, the FUS Exchange, you are missing out on interesting conversations, breaking news, and a chance to know your fellow members better. The Exchange is a "list-serve" where email sent to a single address is shared with all list members. We have around 120 members but that is not even half of our congregation. For a summary of what the list is about and a link to subscribe, please visit
