Monthly Poetry Group
Friday, April 26, 7:00-9:00pm Spring is in the air-one says hopefully. This month's poetry reading and discussion will focus on this elusive season. Join fellow UUs and humanists as we eagerly look forward to milder days and sunnier dispositions. Are there some poets who might help cheer us with springtime sentiments? Whatever spring poems you find to share, bring enough copies for all (8-10 should do). Or just come to participate in the discussion. Light refreshments will be served. Facilitated by Audrey Kingstrom. |
Confluence View the latest edition of this publication by the Board of Trustees here, or pick up a hard copy at the Greeters' table at the Mount Curve entrance. |
Liberal Parenting Discussion Group Sunday, April 28, 9:00-10:20am Please join us a rich discussion on a parenting topic that affects our daily lives. This discussion is free and open to the public - nonmembers are welcome! Light refreshments and childcare are provided. What Do I Tell My Kids about the Pain in the World? How Do I Help? Facilitated by Marit Appledorn, MSW, LICSW and Child Psychotherapist. Whether through exposure to media, "playground talk," or even sensing the emotional responses in the adults around them, kids of all ages can be deeply impacted by things happening many hundreds of miles away like the recent Newtown tragedy. It is important that we as caregivers and liberal parents have the opportunity to talk about how, why, and when we can engage children around these topics and help them create narratives and process their own emotions. |

 Stewardship Update
Setting the Table
Through your commitment to set the table for our new minister (now officially called!), we raised $48,932 towards our goal of $50,000. First and foremost, congratulations to all our members who either increased their pledges or became new pledgers. You inspired us! Secondly, thanks to members who took the time to turn in a new pledge form. We now know that we will move forward into David's ministry with confidence in our financial position, and with a budget we can build on because of strong pledge support. And being ever the optimists, we hope for news from those of you that haven't pledged yet or are still contemplating an increase. Thanks for helping us set our table with our very best! Your Stewardship committee
