Join Roger Rydberg of the FUS Library Committee as he gives a hands on demonstration of the multiple resources we have in our FUS library. Roger will walk us through the latest technologies that the congregation and individuals can use to increase our knowledge about multiple subjects and spread the word about humanism to the broader community. FUS Parenting Discussion Group Sunday, February 10, 9:00am
Please join us for rich discussions on parenting topics that affect our daily lives. All discussions are free and open to the public - nonmembers are welcome! Light refreshments and childcare are provided. Raising Children Who Understand White Privilege. Facilitated by Molly Illes. During this session, we will review Peggy McIntosh's article, "Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack" and discuss our feelings and answers to a few questions she poses about white privilege and get tips on how we can talk with our kids about it. Freedom to Marry Day Rally on February 14 will be a key first step in working with state legislators to ensure that in 2013 Minnesota state law is changed to reflect our shared belief that loving and committed same-sex couples should have the freedom to marry. For more information and to RSVP click here

The Bible for Humanists
Tuesday evenings, 7-8:30pm, February 19, 26, and March 5. Led by Wendy Jerome. We'll cover both the Old and New Testaments from historical perspectives. We'll discover the persistence of much-older ancient Near Eastern poetry and myth and reveal changing physical environment, economic, and societal concerns. We'll discuss favorite bible stories, what the bible really says about women, the environment, and same-sex relationships, and archaeology, too! Drop in or come for the whole series.

Join FUS members and the Downtown Congregations to End Homelessness (DCEH) at the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition Day on the Hill in St. Paul on Thursday, February 21. Day on the Hill provides a meaningful opportunity to share the importance of housing for communities across Minnesota with our Legislators!  Register here. We have all experienced loss that has shattered our heart. How can we recover and live fully again? Please join us as we travel through the stages of grief presenting music that beautifully depict this heroic journey.
