Our bird walk this morning was a warm and relaxing start to the holiday weekend. Many birds continue their trek south - especially the turkey vultures this morning! We saw lots.

I think that many people, and even some bird watchers, miss out on cedar waxwings. They

miss out partly because cedar waxwings are inconspicuous, and mostly because of their high-pitched, thin call. Many people cannot hear cedar waxwings. I think this winter will be a good one for waxwings (along Colorado's Front Range) due to the vast amounts of fruit locally. Depending on the weather up north, we may even have large numbers of Bohemian Waxwings!
