Saturday Bird Walk - Bird Count - April 30, 2016
Snowing and brisk. 30°F. 3-12 mph. 6 participants.

We continued our propensity for taking snowy bird walks this morning. Our first stop was sloppy, but nice. After that, the wind came up and turned things rather bitter. We had light to moderate wet snow the entire morning. Still, many birds were out and we saw a lot given the conditions.

Canada Goose - Branta Canadensis

When we are out in the rain or snow, the bird activity is usually low. Today's bird count was pretty good, but the activity was still a bit off. Birds are just trying to conserve energy on a

morning like today's which means staying as dry as possible. However, Canada Geese are built to get wet so they seemingly are not fazed by a little snow.
