I was not on the bird walk this morning so the Saturday Morning Birders took it upon themselves to go bird watching. Thanks to all that participated and sent in images for the slide show. Spring is here and you have to take every opportunity you can to get outside.

       Western Scrub-Jay

Western Scrub-Jays were one of the species so adversely affected by the West Nile Virus in

2003 and after. For years after 2003 it was hard to find a scrub-jay in Boulder County. Their numbers were never very high and they are confined to a narrow strip of habitat along the foothills. It is good to see them rebounding.

No reservations required.  Every last Saturday of the month we travel further afield than normal and return a little later. Bird Walk locations are determined on the morning of the walk. All ages and birding abilities are welcome!
