Saturday Bird Walk - Bird Count - Feb 6, 2016
Partly cloudy and mild. 25°F. 2-6 mph. 7 participants.
Our style of bird watching this morning was auto-birding. No, not birding that is done by itself, but rather bird watching from your car. It can limit the number of species you see, but it is a great way to see raptors, which was one of our highlights this morning.

At the pig farm on 63rd and Oxford, we came across a glorious flock of horned larks. I usually think of them as an abundant bird further out on the plains, but not very abundant near the foothills. This was the most horned larks, by far, that I've seen in Boulder County. They were very active feeding and swirling around the farm. (See slide show)
