The waterfowl are starting to show up! It's only a short wait until we are at peak numbers. Celebrate duck month by going to your local watering hole (i.e. pond) and enjoying the antics and colors of all the waterfowl.

     Great Blue Heron
I am always pulled in and entranced by watching great blue herons. Something about their patience and elegant slow movements keeps my eyes on them. We watched several this morning, but the heron standing on the large sewer pipe seemed ungainly. It's always funny to see them perched in a tree or other place. I don't know why that should be, because they do it often.
