July 18, 2015 Saturday Bird Walk
Partly Cloudy and pleasant. 70°F. 2-8 mph. 21 participants.
binoculars and child

I gave my group the choice of fighting the bugs at Sawhill and Walden Ponds or going higher up to cooler weather at Betasso Preserve. Perhaps it was presented poorly in terms of choice. Like when Julie's brother was supposed to be watching our kids and taking them to the museum. He said, 'kids do you want to go the museum or to the candy store?' That was an obvious choice for our kids. Anyway, Betasso was gorgeous. It was so green and that breeze was luscious. And the birds weren't bad either.!

Bullock's Oriole

Bullock's Oriole
We went in search of Bullock's Orioles this morning because most of the young have fledged and soon both adults and young will depart until next year. We had the interesting birding experience today of little activity at our first location, but when we literally went across the road we had great activity. You just never know when or where you are going to find birds.
