When we arrived at the South Mesa Trailhead, there were too many birds singing to sort them all out. Springtime is great for learning bird song because they are all singing, if we could just teach them to take turns. One skill that many expert birders develop is to "ignore" the loud, close, and obvious bird songs and calls so they can focus on any that are different or rare. It's hard to do when everyone is talking at once. Anyway, it was wonderful to hear all of it this morning.
