Our White Christmas was glorified this morning by the crisp air and bright sunshine. Watch the slide show for many glorious winter images. We were lacking in birds this morning, but the scenery made up for it. Happy New Year and Good Birding!

American Dipper

I have seen very few dippers since the flood. That might be caused by lack of access to dipper habitat due to closures, but I believe the flooding killed off many of our dippers in Boulder County. That is why it was such a thrill to see an American Dipper this morning. Whenever you see a dipper in the winter, it sends a chill up your spine. How can they stand to be in the frigid waters all day? There are technical reasons such as dense feather packing and round shape etc, but still it is amazing.
