It is sad to think that the Bullock's Orioles will not be with us much longer. They do not linger after nesting - it's off to the tropics until next year. So we went looking for a few this morning before they depart. We did find some and a lot of others. View the slide show for images of today's walk.

Cedar Waxwing
I saw something this morning that I have never witnessed before - courtship behavior of cedar waxwings. One of the birds was jumping around the branches of a tree with its crest raised, wings down, and tail fanned. My image of this behavior is included in the slide show; however, the image is not one of my best. This side hopping behavior is often associated with mate feeding where a pair will pass a berry back and forth to each other.
