Thanks to Bill Eeds from the Wild Bird Center for leading today's walk. A beautiful walk, but the birds were hiding in the shadows too much. That, unfortunately, is not unusual in the hot part of the summer. Western Tanager
A lot of western tanagers were about in Gregory Canyon, lots of calls, but few showing themselves. It always amazes me that a super colorful bird like a western tanager can disappear in the high tree shadows.
