Today, it really felt like spring was here. We saw our first frog of the year and the first swallows. We had plenty of other firsts. Look at the list below for more of my FOY (First of the Year) birds. Make sure to look at all the great images from today's walk on the slideshow.

Bird of the Day
March 30, 2013 Saturday Bird Walk

Great-Tailed Grackle

 ŠSteve Frye

Great-Tailed Grackle
There were many votes for many different birds from the Saturday Birders this morning. The last bird we saw was the great-tailed grackle which put on quite a show so I used my executive powers to elect the great-tailed grackle for Bird of the Day. Great-tails have a crazy repertoire of sounds. Some of today's sounds I captured on video.
